Crumbled Strawberry Short Cake
I gotta tell you I am not big on desserts of any kind. I don’t know, they just are not appealing to me. Can you believe I don’t like chocolate? Anytime that comes up I swear I get that look of utter shock from other women. It’s quite funny. This week I took advantage of one of Tops Meal Deals. In this meal deal you purchase a pack of chicken and get 8 items free. One of these items was an angel food cake. My mother has bought these in the past and made, but I’m not quite sure if I ever had. Now was good a time as any to whip up some strawberry short cake. Of course, I never measure or go by anything. I just winged it like usual. Here is what I did 🙂
I cut up some of the angel food cake into square chunks and put them in a bowl. Then I cut up about 6 strawberries and tossed those into my food processor. I also added a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of strawberry preserves. Then blended it until smooth looking with less bigger pieces.
After that I added some cool whip to the chunks of angel food cake and topped it with the strawberry puree I made. Then I added a few chopped up pieces of strawberry to the top as well. Everyone really enjoyed it. 🙂
