Store Coupons vs. Manufacturers Coupons

There are two types of coupons. There are manufacturers coupons and there are store coupons. It is important to know the difference between the two.

Manufacturers Coupons

Manufacturers coupons are coupons that are distributed by companies to entice consumers mfqcpnto purchase their products. These cannot be combined with other manufacturers coupons. A sure way you can tell which coupons are manufacturers is by the “manufacturers coupon” label on the top of the coupon. Refer to the image on the right ~~~~>

remitaddy

The manufacturers coupons will always have a remit address on them. That means they have an address where the store is supposed to send those coupons in to, in order to get reimbursed. Please refer to the image on the left <~~~~

Store Coupons

Store coupons are distributed by the store themselves. So with store coupons, they do not need to send these away to get reimbursed. This money is coming out of their own pockets, topscpnexamplesort of speak. Often, you can stack a manufacturers coupon AND a store coupon together on the same product, when available.

Here is an example of a store coupon. Note how it specifically states store coupon at the top, and it does not have a remit address to send the coupon away. Refer to the image to the right ~~~>

Catalinas

Often, many grocery stores will have catalinas that print out of the machine. Some may be store coupons, while others are most likely to be manufacturers coupons. Below are two examples of catalinas received from my local grocery store. Note how they both say mnaufacturers coupon on the top.

Looking closer….you can see the remit address on these catalinas…..
Being a manufacturers coupon, these cannot be stacked with other manufactuers coupons.

storecpnSometimes we do see store catalina offers. They will state “store coupon” on them, then when available you would be able to use in conjunction with a manufactuers coupon.

[…] There are a few different paper coupons you will find that are store coupons. A sure way to know they are store coupons is to look on the top (usually) of the coupon and if it states “store coupon” on it, then it is a store coupon. Also, another way to tell if it’s a store coupon is if there is no remit address. You can learn more about how to tell which is a manufacturers coupon and which is a store coupon here. […]

Hi Debbie! Yes, there are places online or people located on facebook that offer regional coupons. The most popular one is jacks cards and coupons in NY. For beginners I always suggest purchasing 1 – 2 Sunday papers each week and trying to invest in a printer. Printable coupons are great in my opinion – 90% of my shopping is done with them.
