  • What is your name?

Luellen Marfoe

  • What is your Blog’s Name?

Savvy Coupon Shopper

  • What State are you From?

Illinois

  • Do you have kids?

2—Samantha (2) & Joey (7)

  • What is your favorite hobby besides blogging/couponing?

I really love to cook & bake!! I’ve gotten so much better over the years and I love the recipes that I’ve developed for simple home cooked meals. I like to find easy ways to cook so that I can spend more time with my family!!! And I also love garage sales!!!!

  • Do you work other than blogging?

Professional cook, driver, teacher, shopper, pet groomer, car washer, landscaper & so much more!!! LOL!!!

  • What made you start blogging?

After leaving a great full-time job to raise my kids, I knew that I had to find something that would help me to express myself. I got my real-estate license & realized that it was more work than my full-time job! I didn’t enjoy being away from my family and working on other peoples schedules. I needed to work on a schedule that would be good for my family & myself! started couponing about 7 years ago & my family was always so amazed at how good I was at it. Over the years I learned to become frugal in so many ways! I wanted to help other people to coupon and become more savvy with their money. It’s crazy, but my family is doing so much better financially now with only 1 income now!!! I want to tell others that they can do it too!!! And starting step by step is the way to go!!

  • How long have you been blogging for?

I’ve been blogging for just about 1 year now!

  • What type of deals do you post about?

I do weekly couponing hauls & post videos on my YouTube Channel. I do my couponing each week on a $20.00 Budget. I love to shop at Target, CVS & Walgreens! Each week, I highlight the best deals and share them on my blog. I breakdown all the details on how my readers can get the deals for their families. I also love free samples, so I post free sample links daily! I started posting the Tip of the Day, which helps couponers to get more savvy with their couponing groove! I also love to share recipes, kids crafts & any garage sale hauls!

  • What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I love to here from my followers that they are saving money and that my blog is helping them! That is my whole purpose for this blog. I had made a circle of friends who make the long mornings & nights of working worth it all!!!

  • Do you only shop for items you have coupons for?

No, I love to get couponing deals, but I also have to buy things without coupons. I do my best to price-match with other stores or monitor weekly sales for the best prices!!! Couponing is more than just coupons….there are so many different levels!

  • What is your favorite store to shop at?

TARGET….TARGET…..TARGET!!!! I absolutely love Target!!! They have the best gift card & promo deals!!! And Cartwheel is the best too! I think Target is the easiest store to coupon at too!!!

  • What is one of your favorite deals in the past?

I was able to score super-big on Target deals a few months ago! I scored over $300.00 of products for FREE!!!! I picked up a bunch of personal care items that went into my donation box! (I love Target promo deals….with the right coupons, you can score super-big!)

  • Do you have any tips for new couponers?

Don’t be an extreme couponer! Don’t try to get every deal, don’t spend too much time on deal hunting. Instead, focus in on a few deals each week. Baby steps at a Time!!! Set a budget and stay within it! Couponing can turn into an expensive habit unless you set limits. Remember that your main focus is your family, so don’t become obsessive with couponing! Set aside a few hours each week….no more than 4 hours total. Within that time, you can search for deals, clip coupons, shop & get coupon organized!!! (The best time for me is night-time when the kiddos are in dreamland! Build your stock deal by deal….you will be amazed at your achievements!

  • Do you follow any money saving blogs? If so, what ones are your favorite?

I don’t have too much time to look, but I like Krazy Coupon Lady & Free Stuff Finder!
