Spending Time Making Memories with my Kids

This is how I spend some of my afternoons. Currently, it’s May and I am homeschooling one child this year and the other is in pre school a few days a week. After school we go down to an area in town that has a small boat launch and loop around the canal. There also happens to be a nice trail with some paths leading to the water.

This one area I realized is perfect for the kids to get into. It goes out a ways and it’s shallow enough to see the depth and how far they go out.

I decided to buy them some water shoes from Walmart for only $5 so to avoid any ️Boo boos. We have already been here going on an hour and the kids just really enjoy splashing around, playing in the dirt, searching for shells and so forth.

It makes me think about how you don’t need to take your kids to places that cost a lot of money in order for them to have fun or to enjoy their day. I know when I was growing up we didn’t often go to the zoo or other places that cost money to get in. But I have many fond memories of cook outs, getting in water like this and so much more!

That gives me a great idea to share a list of free fun summer activities for you to do with your kids! So stay tuned! 🙂
