How to Make Colored Play Sand: 3 Simple Ingredients

What is more fun for kids than making a mess?! Haha! My girls absolutely love this Colored Play Sand I created with just three simple ingredients! The best part is….it is safe for them if you have kiddos who put things in their mouth!

The Colored Play Sand is nice and soft and it even clumps together nicely to form shapes!

How to Make Colored Play Sand: For every Color you want to create

2 cups flour
1/4 cup oil
1 teaspoon food dye

I put in small bowl I added the oil and food dye. Then I mixed it with a spoon. I added the oil and dye mixture to the flour in a bigger bowl. Mix well with your hands until the mixture starts to look all mixed together and the texture you would like. If you add too much oil, it will be too wet.

This Colored Play Sand is sure to keep your kiddos busy! My two kids (ages 6 and 3) loved playing in the colored play sand while we went camping. That way the sand that got out of the container I kept it in did not make a mess in my house 😉
