“You Rock” Paper Weights Creative Gift Idea

Looking for an easy gift for your kiddos to make for Father’s Day?! I was surfing Pinterest (check out my Father’s Day board) and saw this “You Rock” idea. So I grabbed my kiddos and we headed outside to check the driveway for possible rocks to use. We also happened to have a few more decorative rocks available to us as well. If you don’t have these in your yard consider looking for them if you go for a walk or head to the park to hunt for them!

At first I was going to use the paint to have the kids create their designs. But, the more I thought about it the more I thought how hard that may be for them with these rocks being so small. So I remembered when I purchased a set of Sharpie Permanent Markers. So glad I did! They have the fine points and so much easier for the kids to use them to create their works of art!

After the girls created their pictures of themselves and their father on each rocks, it was time for Mommy to glue them together. I used a hot glue gun and made sure there was enough glue on them to keep them up. Being rocks, you want to make sure you secure them good.

Once you are done be sure to have your kiddos write on the bottoms of them their names and date they made them. Then you can give them to the special man in your life to tell him “You Rock”. I think this will make a perfect gift to sit on someones work desk!
