By now I’m sure most kids are back in school. Do you feel you are nice and organized with snacks? I know I often feel as though everything is tossed in the fridge or cupboard and you have to hunt for the items or they get squished! So before school started this week for us I cleaned out the cupboard and the fridge to get ready.

Above I had two clear containers that I use. One was from my fridge, but had broke so was just sitting in there. It was one of those sliding out drawers. The other was part of a cupcake holder set I don’t use often enough to say so. I opened up all the boxes of cold snacks I had – go gurt, applesauce, snack packs, fruit cups, etc. Then I organized them and arranged them to fit nicely in these containers.

Next I decided I wanted to try a container to keep them in, but with a sliding out drawer. So I shopped at Walmart and came up with the one above. I had to rearrange things a bit since the one drawer would not fit on top of the sliding one now. So instead I tossed all the juices in the top container and put all the fruit cups, applesauce cups, yogurts and cheese sticks in the sliding drawer.

Here is that it looks like from above when you open it up. I also rearranged the dry snacks in my cupboard as well.

Basically it helps if you take all the snacks out of the boxes. That way you can see what you got. Not only will it help you find a snack for the day, and ease your kids decisions, but it will help give you more space! You can grab small clear bins at the dollar store and stack them in your cupboards (like the ones show on top shelf). It is so much easier to find something now that you can see everything that’s in there!
