PupBox Monthly Dog Subscription… Is it worth it?!

PupBox Monthly Dog Subscription Box

We got our first puppy in February and of course we want to spoil him! He is a 4 month old German Shepard mix named Ghost. I’ve been trying to find a monthly subscription box that would work for us. My goal with this monthly box was to help us try new things and always have a few new toys coming in. Plus, who wouldn’t love getting a big purple box in the mail to spoil your pet with? It’s like Christmas once a month for them (and lets be honest, us too!). There are a few different box options out there, but we chose PupBox! I liked what PupBox had to offer. They work a bit differently, in that each box is custom to YOUR dog. They send helpful training info based on your dogs breed and age, treats and toys based on age and how much of a chewer they are, as well as different accessories like travel water bottles, grooming supplies for your dogs specific coat type, training products and cleaning products. Some of these products can only be bought online, so you will get stuff you may have never seen before or thought to try. PupBox offers a few different plans for subscription. A 12 month plan (Best Value), 6 month plan, a 3 month plan and a month to month subscription. Head over to PupBox to grab your own monthly subscription. If you use my link, you will get 50% off your first months box with the 3, 6 or 12 month subscription!

For our profile, we have 4 Months old – Short coat – Heavy chewer – Large breed dog. Each box will be specific to YOUR dogs profile.

First Thoughts

Ghost was super excited to see his box. He wouldn’t leave it alone even though he had no idea what was in it.

This month, our box had lots of goodies! Two toys which are a HARD rubber for heavy chewers, 2 bags of treats, a Bully Stick, 1 plush toy and a guide for his 4 month training and development (very informative!) I added up the retail cost of our items and it was over $44. I wanted to compare the price of the box to what the retail value is. Plus, shipping is free with your box.

PupBox Monthly Dog Subscription Box treats

I was pretty happy about getting the Natural Natural Puppy Teething Rings since Ghost is a heavy chewer and most treats don’t last very long with him! He absolutely went bonkers for the Wellness Soft Puppy Bites treats.

These are the two hard rubber toys. They seem really great for a dog who can rip anything apart. So far, so good. No holes in either! The ball lights up and has a very obnoxious squeak, so that is by far the favorite toy here.

The plush toy is SUPER cute. A little milk jug with 3 squeaking cookies! This one is softer and we will have to watch him with it or the cookies may actually get eaten. You can put threats inside the milk jug with the cookies and your dog can play with it to get them out. Ghost thought this was fun and he didn’t want to put it down. Below is the best picture I could snap of him with it because he was running around the house with it so much!

The last two items in our first box were the training and development sheet and a Bully Stick, which is from an online company called The Natural Dog Company. They seem to make a lot of great products, and Ghost loved his Bully Stick.

Our overall thoughts.. So far, I love what we go in our first box. I think the toys are great for him because he wont kill them after 5 minutes of play and the treats are ones we have not tried yet. I’m looking forward to our next months box!
