5 easy homemade christmas ornaments

I love creating cute crafts with my 2 daughters. My favorite are the crafts that we make for the Holidays through out the year. I am all for the simple and easy ones. That way their attention span is kept as well as my patience 😉

candy cane pipe cleaner
1. Candy Cane Pipe Cleaner
Ornament

This one is as easy as it gets. You can find a bag of pipe cleaners at Walmart for only $0.97. All you have to do is take two pipe cleaners; one red and the other green. Then you twist the two ends together and keep wrapping them around each other till the end. Then you shape them like a hook for a candy cane. Easy!

reindeer thumb print2. Thumb Print Reindeer Ornament

These are super cute!! You want to use a plain white sheet of paper and brown paint. Dip or paint your little ones finder with the brown paint. Then gently press it against the paper. After the paint dries you can add with a thin black marker two eyes and the antlers. With a red pen or marker you can make a red nose (like Rudolf). Then use some fancy craft scissors to cut around the reindeer in a circle. You may want to use a small class or bowl to trace a nice circle around before cutting. You do the same thing with a color of your choice paper or foam paper like I did.

3. Wreath Beads Ornament

This one is a classic I remember making as a child. You want to use pipe cleaners (or string) and thread some red and green beads onto them. I used pipe cleaners so at the end I could tie the left over part into a bow at the top! You could use additional string to make the bow.

candy cane heart4. Candy Cane Heart Ornament

This one may take a little bot or work. When I first tried this I had a hard time getting the glue to stick to both the candy canes. Basically, you take two mini candy canes and glue them together. I would try super glue or craft glue. Be careful that the glue does not stick to the paper underneath that you use to do this on. (speaking from experience here, lol)

reindeer popsicle sticks5. Reindeer Popsicle Stick Ornament

This one is another favorite of mine. It is so stinkin’ cute! You take some popsicle sticks and paint them brown and let dry. When they are dry you can then use a black marker to make the eyes. I used cut outs of brown construction paper for the nose and antlers I did free hand. Then take some scrap fabric and cut into a strip. You can then tie it around the middle for a scarf!

Easy Enough, right?! 🙂
