Rite Aid 101: Learn How to Coupon at Rite Aid

Here is a Compiled list of information on everything you need to know when shopping at Rite Aid. I hope you find it helpful!

In order to participate in the sales and offers Rite Aid has, you will need to sign up for a Wellness + card. You can ask your cashier for it, and immediately start using it and taking advantage of the store offers!

Wellness+Bonus Cash

• Automatically loaded to your wellness+ or plenti card
• May be redeemed in store or online starting 6 am the next day after earning
• Expires 60 days after you earn them
• See terms for exclusion items that don’t qualify

The Wellness+Bonus Cash can only be applied in the same denomination they were earned. So say you earned $20, $10 and $3.  Depending on your total the one offer that can apply will. So if you bought $21 worth the $20 would come off first. If you bought $5 worth the $3 would come off first.  If you purchase $15 worth the $10 and the $3 both would come off from what I am reading. This is still new and many cashiers are even un sure how it works as is customer service when we asked!

**Note that the Wellness+ Bonus Cash will AUTOMATICALLY come off your next order you use that total is over the amount earned. You cannot choose what you want to use it on at this time. 

**If using coupons you MUST scan coupons FIRST then your loyalty card otherwise you will not be able to use your coupons – they won’t even scan! 

Plenti Rewards

You no longer can earn Plenti Rewards from what I can tell, but you can still be redeem them at Rite Aid.

Rite aid has Plenti Rewards that are points worth money off your next in store purchase. They accumulate on your account and stay on your card when you buy participating products. You can use plenti rewards from a product you just bought on the same product and still receive the same plenti reward. (different than walgreen’s) As long as you have not reached the limit. You can also buy multiple (if no limit) in same order, and get rewards for each product bought qualifying.

• Plenti rewards do not take away tax. So be sure you have enough to take it off.
• They can only be used the next day after receiving them.
• Plenti Rewards expire 2 years after earning.
• Plenti rewards can be used at participating retailers:  AT&T, Exxon, Mobil, Macy’s, Nationwide, Direct Energy and Hulu.

Examples:

Say you Buy 4 Schick Hydro Razors at $9.99 each. When you buy 1 you get a $4 Wellness+ Bonus Cash (limit 4).  And you have coupons to use as well! Here is what it would look like:

Buy 4 Schick Hydro Razors – $9.99 each
Total = $39.96
Use 4 – $4.00/1 Schick Hydro Razor mfq. coupons (= $12.00)
Pay $23.96
Get back 4 – $4 Wellness+ Bonus Cash on card!! (total of $16.00)

OR Because Rite Aid is so Awesome you can do this:

Buy 1 Schick Hydro Razors – $9.99 each
Total = $9.99
Use $4.00/1 Schick Hydro Razor mfq. coupons
Pay $5.99
Get back a $4 Wellness+ Bonus Cash

NEXT Day (because you cannot use your Wellness+ Bonus Cash earned until the following day…)

Buy 1 Schick Hydro Razors – $9.99 each
Total = $9.99
Use $4.00/1 Schick Hydro Razor mfq. coupons
THEN SCAN YOUR LOYALTY CARD
$4.00 Wellness+ Bonus Cash on card earned from previous razor purchase will AUTOMATICALLY come off
Pay $1.99
Get back a $4 Wellness+ Bonus Cash on card

And Repeat as many times as there is limits, or coupons available to you! We do have to double check since Wellness+ Bonus Cash is new to be sure you can earn off of items using the cash on, but I’m thinking you can still. 

Even Better deal if you had Wellness+ Bonus Cash from previous purchases! Here is an example using up rewards.

Buy 4 Schick Hydro Razors – $9.99 each
Total = $39.96
Use 4 – $4.00/1 Schick Hydro Razor mfq. coupons (= $12.00)
Total = $17.97
THEN SCAN YOUR LOYALTY CARD
Use $15 previous rewards (will AUTOMATICALLY come off, no choice in amount you wish to spend)
Pay Only $2.97!!

Wellness + Points

wellness+ points are points earned toward Bronze, Silver and Gold status discounts exclusively at Rite Aid. Members can earn one wellness+ point for one dollar spent on eligible front-end purchases and up to 25 wellness+ points for every eligible prescription.

When members accumulate 250 wellness+ points, they earn Bronze status and qualify for 10% off Rite Aid Brand products every day for a year. With 500 wellness+ points, members earn Silver status and qualify for 10% off nearly the entire Rite Aid store for a year. And with 1,000 wellness+ points, members earn Gold status and qualify for 20% off nearly the entire Rite Aid store for a year.

Other Benefits

In addition to exclusive members-only sale pricing and earning points toward savings of up to 20% store wide, both existing wellness+ members and new wellness+ with Plenti members will enjoy the following wellness+ benefits:

• 24/7 access to a Rite Aid Pharmacist
• Exclusive money-saving offers and information by email
• The option to load coupons direct to card.
• Members will continue to earn:
  • 1 wellness+ point for one dollar spent on eligible purchases they make at Rite Aid when they scan their new Plenti card at the register,
  • 25 wellness+ points for every non-government funded prescription purchased when using their Plenti card,
  • And 1 wellness+ point for every dollar spent on copays (not to exceed 25 points per prescription) for government-funded prescriptions.

The wellness+ points will continue to reset at the end of each year, but all earned Bronze, Silver, and Gold status discounts remain active through the end of the next calendar year.

One of my personal favorites at any store are clearance finds! You can totally use coupons on these items that are clearanced at Rite Aid. Typically we see the same mark downs at all stores or will eventually. If you see something marked only 30% off then chances are it may go lower, but that depends on how long it sits on the shelves for too.

Be on the look out for these sweet store coupons found on items. Many times we see them on items that may be expiring soon so keep an eye out for that too. I have been able to score some free or pretty close to it candy bars just from spotting these coupons! If available, you can totally stack these with manufacturers coupons since they are store coupons.
