Learn How Dollar General Digital Coupons Work with these easy steps!

A few key notes about these Digital Coupons. These coupons are mostly manufacturers coupons. There is a way to tell.

Note the coupon images (see example above) that have a “M” on it after clipping it. If they offer a store coupon, it will say so on it. Otherwise they cannot be combined with other paper manufacturers coupons. These coupons are one time use and do not double in value. Be sure if there is a “Show Details” button on the digital coupon that you read it to be sure what exactly you can use that coupon on. That will often have more details like sizes or varieties if there are any.

Look for digital coupon offers in the weekly ads or found on sales tags in the stores! Some may pop up daily as we get new printable coupon offers, they also may pop up in the digital coupons as well! Sometimes they will reload after using them, but typically not until they are offered again or what we call, reset.

JESUS LUVS!!! Hello PRAY IN JESUS NAME ALL IS WELL! The dollar general that I went to yesterday is
not customer minded! This weekend is supposed to be the 50% off with an additional 50% percent off 3 day sale. Well I know that most lawn and garden items are supposed to be in this sale. They were 3buggies sitting outside with garden gloves, 4 small planting rakes 4or 5maybe patriotic yard 4th of July stakes, water hose attachments, and maybe a case of the 1 inch yard ornaments. The items that were in these buggies could have all fit in one buggy; still this is not my ranting point. If I was not a hard working couponer, with only 1 account that I use at dollar general, I would have not even known there was a sale at this store. The buggies outside had a sales tag on it that said 75% off and that was the only sales tag in this whole store besides the yellow dollar general digital coupon tag. I knew that the green dot home was 50% off with an additional 50% off that price which the way that is done it turns into 75% off. There was not anyway a regular customer would have known it was 1cent off unless they were a real witch or fortune teller. Let’s not fail to mention this is a nci store and a remodel. Not one sales tag people. The fun doesn’t even try to start there. I had an online order that I picked up at check out hahahaha. Well on the app it said they were out of stock on dr.pepper! They were clearly not out of dr. pepper hence the whole wall of dr. pepper when you walk in the door. What I replaced the dr. pepper with was just so happen out of stock root beer. Which I did not pick my online order until hours after it was due. The confirmation email I got said mission accomplished and all was correct until I hit the end of check out. As I picked my order up it came to my attention that my rootbeer and toilet paper were missing and my total went up $3.00. Well after a long wait of haggling on the phone with the store manager the cashier finally did as the manager suggested which was totally wrong. It was not the employee that was on the phone with the cashiers fault it was whoever she was talking to. I wish corporate would send a secret shopper into this store. This is one of many bad experiences Iwe have had. I have called and got a lady from what I thought was corporate but she tried to down play me just like the experience I had in the store. If this is to try to discourage couponers and bargain shoppers well, you got the wrong one dollar general in Mantachie, Ms. I have saved the best for last although there were noooo sales tags anywhere after you walk through the door, the prices did almost all scan correctly at the register. I had my dg app open, connected to dg customer wifi, and I could not get my phone app to scan anything but twice without getting an error message so that means I would have had to go to the register to get a price check every time. I was not going to do that. I got it to scan 2 small items so I just crossed my fingers that the other items scan correctly, they did. I would have thought the app connection was my phone but something like this happens when I go to most dollar generals. During my shopping a lady came up to me and asked, “Are you able to get your phone to scan in here?” Wow, I said just two small I items but nothing else. She was a couponer also and about 65 years old. She answered a question I had without me even asking, but not without having to take an item upfront to get it scanned, because wifi blocked and no sales tags. I had a great cashier checking me out but not with out a finally statement made by her. She said, ” I love working at dollar general, because people come up here with stuff like this all the time that I don’t even know is on sale.” I know you are thinking that she is new but no she has been there quite sometime. So what is your feed back on this? BE BLESSED.

When I go to check out no where does it ask for my phone number to use my digital coupons? What am I doing wrong?

If you are purchasing online there is no option to do that. But, if you are in store the option is on the keypad where you would swipe your credit card.

I’ve had an ongoing problem with dg digital coupons. When I enter cell number at the register it says error has occurred . And won’t deduct coupons I clicked on . Spoke to multiple cust. Service reps but didn’t clear up issues

As manager at a Dollar General I do not advise doing the 2 phone # sperate purchase scam. It is one coupon per customer, not account. Read the fine print on the app. We have refused many customers and told them to take it up with corporate for confirmation of this which would be upheld. They were smart enough not to try again. We do have the right to refuse service at our discretion. It does not pay to be dishonest. Plus it shows your level of integrity.

I detest Dollar General digital coupons. They’re not Krogers, where I spend 400 plus each month, and really get a bargain. Fuel pts. for one. And Krogers rewards me with more coupons on items I regularly buy.

If you detest dollar generals coupons and prefer krogers, why are you even here? Just to complain about a store that you don’t even like? Have you nothing better to do with your time?

This is my first time using the dg app and I was told I could get 6 different Gain items and then use the 5 off 25 and then the 2 off times 3 and pay total but I was informed by a cashier I only could use one coupon 😪

Awe that’s a bummer. Yes, each digital coupon is limit one per account. When they offer different ones for similar Gain products is when you would be able to use multiple.

If I have two manufacturer coupons clipped for one item and one is a lower value and the other is higher do you know which one will come off at checkout?

    Reply

    1. Kristy

To be honest, I’m not sure. I try to only clip the ones I know I’m going to use. I think it may be trial and error to see what happens. I’ve never done it myself. I do have a Dollar General Facebook Group we could ask and see if anyone else knows.

I believe the lower value coupon will come off first. I thought the higher value coupon would come off bc it was expiring sooner, but that apparently doesn’t matter.

Do you need to clip and use one coupon at a time when you’re checking out? I recently had the gain coupon for $5 off $25 worth of gain products. I also had the dollar general Saturday coupon for $5 off of $25. As well as $2, & $1 gain coupons for every gain item purchased. I knew I would need to spend $30 on the gain products for the two $5 coupons to be redeemed. I had a $1 dollar general coupon off of any purchase a dollar or greater. Well at checkout she totaled my items up and I entered my phone number for the digital coupons that I had already clipped and my sub total was $8.17. I’ve ran the math back in my head about a dozen times and my sub total should have been $6.05 with the coupons and items I had. I’m wondering if I should have scanned the $5 off Saturday coupon first? And then the $5 off of $25 gain products. Then my coupons for the individual products and last the $1 dollar general coupon. Did this not work right because I didn’t do it in this order? Thanks for all your help!

Sometimes some digital coupons do not attach properly for whatever reason. I know it’s frustrating. The way you are doing it sounds fine. I do know the terms on the money off coupons state they cannot be used together, but it appears that sometimes they do. The receipts can be hard to figure out sometimes, but best to go through and figure out which coupon did not apply right so you know for next time, or can try to get that amount back (can be difficult process depending on your store).

My boyfriend went to the dollar general yesterday, and entered my number to get the coupons i clipped. It did not take off any money at all. So my coupons are still on my clipped list. If he entered my number how is that possible? Can i still get the savings back without doing a return?

    Reply

    1. Kristy

Either the number didn’t go through and register or it may have been entered wrong? Can you see on the receipt any indication of the number being there, as I know when I check out it shows how many available coupons I have. Sometimes things don’t match up, but for the most part the coupons always come off. I would either call your store to ask or take your receipt back to the store and show them the coupons that did not come off ans see if they can reimburse you for the difference.

Unfortunately some people create fake accounts and do separate transactions and use multiple phone numbers to be able to use these digital coupons. I wouldn’t advise doing that.

Just make a seperate acct. for your husband with his phone# and a password. Then you go to register do two seperate transactions putting in your phone # and then his on second transaction
