Tops Markets Chicken Meal Deal – Is it Really Worth it??

It’s been a long time since I did a price comparison of the Tops Markets Meal Deals and I thought I would do one since they have the chicken meal deal this week, and I think it looks like a good one. Do note that the prices of the chicken packages depends how the store packages them. Price totals are based on a 6 lb package at each store based on per pound price.

TOPS MARKETS Meal Deal

Boneless Skinless Chicken 5-6 lbs – $3.99 per lb making the packages average $20
(note this depends how they package them, some stores can be $18 – $23)

SUMMARY

So as you can see from the breakdown that contrary to popular belief that these meal deals are a rip off, you can clearly see that if you were to go to Wegmans or Walmart and purchase the same (as close as you can) products you would be paying a lot more. With grocery shopping, and any shopping for that matter, you should always price compare to see if the deal you are getting or that is advertised is in fact really a good deal. In my opinion this meal deal is definitely a good deal! Don’t be fooled by the $3.99 per pound price at Tops. This price is the retail price of the chicken. When on sale, it will be cheaper. Due to them offering the free items (valued over $20) they sell the chicken for retail price. It’s how a grocery store that offers sales regularly works you guys. I assure you, they are not ripping you off! Be sure to read the articles below where I have compared other meal deals as well in the paste. I even compared to Aldi’s!
